Purvi Kalyani and Panthu Varali

Similar or Dissimilar?
Here follows a virtual demonstration on the similarity as well as
differences between two major Raghas Purvi Kalyani and Panthu Varalai.
Kindly listen to the video which has only audio rendition.

This is an appendix to my response to my friend Jeeva Venkataraman's blog
Innisai on the Raag Purvi kalyani.

(Kindly ignore the noises that are heard at the beginning. Being a novice in the art of video making I could not edit it properly this time.)

Incidentally, a reference is made in that blog about Purvi, a vilambit in
Hindusthani Classical music.

You will listen to the wonderful rendition by Pandit Jasraj here:

I am simply amazed at the versatility of the members of your group, that has three or four blogs to its credit.
